Whilst I absolutely love holding my newborn photoshoots in my Dorset home studio, there is something really special about having the session in your own home. This is after all where your story is most authentically told. The home you spent hours staring at every little detail of your new love. The bed that you nuzzled their sweet smelling head, soothing your baby back to sleep in the early hours of the morning. It is the comfy sofa you first introduced the two loves of your life.

If you are thinking about having your newborn photoshoot in your own home please don’t feel like you have to have your home cleaned and tidied from top to bottom. I usually only need small areas, next to a window for you to stand by and perhaps your bed to cuddle on and take individual photos of the baby. I am always happy to move anything that needs to be moved, so do not stress about tidying everything away.

The most important thing is that you feel relaxed and comfortable. My sessions are completely baby led so there is plenty of time for feeds, cuddles, siblings to go off and play and you have an all important coffee break.
