let children be children

reasons not to worry about your children during your photoshoot

There have been many occasions where parents have worried about how their children will behave during a family, maternity or newborn photoshoot. Will they listen? Will they run off? Will they smile?

I am a great believer in letting children be children. Why don’t we make this photoshoot an adventure? I have a lot of interactive games up my sleeve (which children love and look great in photos.) I have also been known to belt out a rendition of twinkle twinkle more times than I can count, or jump around and make silly noises. No one wants to look at the camera and do a forced smile, that is not my style of photography anyway. If your child likes to be thrown in the air and it makes them smile naturally, then that is what we will do….as many times as we need.

We can also take breaks, change things up and follow the lead of your children. There really is no need to worry, I only need a split second, a snap shot of a moment. I am a ninja and trust me, I will get that photo! Many families are often surprised with just how many gorgeous moments I managed to capture, amongst what they describe as choas. I am here for it all, the chaos and the calm.

Before photography I worked within the learning difficulty sector for over 10 years. So please know I am very understanding of additional needs and have a lot of experience. As always, I am led by your children and you.
